Big Boots = Big Fun

This big, rugged toy comes fully loaded for fun: moving parts, mobility, action figures, projectiles and tool manipulatives. The truck itself is a whopping 13" long x 7" wide x 7" high. The four wheels fully rotate with a diesel-like sound.

There are three launching platforms on the truck - ladder, side panels and front seat bay - and a hose that blasts "water" (actually a plastic water spout) with the press of a button.

Unlike many toys that include only one figure with additional figures purchased separately, Matchbox includes a generous starter set of three Big Boots allowing multiple platforms of play to be engaged right out of the box simultaneously. The truck itself will hold 12 figures.

One suggestion: Peel-and-stick decals would be a nice addition to this toy.

The packaging is incredible and if you buy this as a gift, it will make an impressive presentation - even wrapped. The figures are tied down with stretchy plastic strands and the truck is anchored with plastic tabs. Both are easy to open to access the toy. Since the toy is powered by kid energy, batteries aren't needed and no assembly required. This is ready-to-go fun.

It is amazing how Matchbox has built excitement and energy into the Big Boots brand. Highly recommend this toy for the action figure in your house.

Big Fun From Matchbox

The three year old who test drove this fire truck for me had a blast with the "bigfoot" men.He enjoyed pushing this from one disaster to another and saving all concerned. And as typical for a kid, he really enjoyed launching the men from the truck who usually do land on their feet ready to go.

I saw a few places namely around the dashboard/windshield area that I think may break through with enough rough play.

My only other gripe was the fact that the dalmation didn't come with the truck. Don't all firetrucks need a dalmation? Or maybe it's supposed to come with it but was missing from my set.

Even so, I imagine plenty of children will be playing with this truck and having fun.

Great for our three-year-old nephew

When looking for gift ideas for our nephew's upcoming third birthday, I asked my sister-in-law for ideas and she said that anything fire fighter-related would be perfect for him. After looking at some other fire trucks, I settled on this one since it seemed like it was really durable. We gave it to our nephew last night, and he loved it so much that he couldn't stop playing with it all night.

He's very rough on toys, and this one is durable and tough, so it should withstand a lot of abuse. (He also received a second fire truck with more moving parts, and it seemed like that one wasn't going to last too long with all the pulling and tugging that he was already doing on it.)

I'll update my review to reflect any changes, but so far I would really recommend this for any kids who are a bit rough and tumble with their toys.
