Works in My PS2 Slim For My PS1 Game!

I received this generic PS1 memory card with reluctance at first, not sure if it was going to work, but, much to my surprise, it works exactly like an original Sony PS1 card. I can save and load my PS1 Silent Hill game with absolutely no problems.

Upon first receiving this card, I placed it into my PS2 Slim with NO GAME and went to the configuration menu to check if my PS2 would "see" it, and it did. Then I clicked on the card itself and immediately a message said that this "card needs to be formatted ... Yes or No". I though a moment, and decided NOT to format just yet, but rather wait until I start my PS1 game and save at a save point WITHIN the game.

I did just that with my Silent Hill PS1 game. When I came to my first save opportunity, again a message came up that said that I "need to format the card" before I could save. This time I said "Yes" and let the format happen, but while I was within my PS1 game. I'm not sure if that would make any difference as opposed to just formatting from the configuration menu with no game, but I thought that having the PS1 game active might yield a better format. End result ... this generic card works perfect for my PS2 slim.

By the way, a PS1 memory card has 15 "blocks" for game saves and a formatted, blank memory card has 122kb available on it. My Silent Hill game only takes one block (about 8kb) for its saves. I have used about 4 save slots within the game and I am still only using one block. Still have lots of room for other PS1 game saves.

I would recommend this card ... it does what it is supposed to do, and it works perfect in my PS2 slim.

A Must Have for those REPLAYING their PS1 Stockpile

Was going through my Box of PS1 Games and decided to replay a few on my PS2. But here is the rub you cant save the games on ps2 Memory cards. So i got this. seems to work for the moment BUT I was a Bit dismayed that they sent me a After Market PS1 Memory Card from a company I never heard of. it was not the SONY MEMORY card I was expecting. But it works so im not complaining. However if it should fail I will be contacting the Seller
